📏 PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Are showers available?
Yes, there are a few cold showers available at the finish area in Trébeurden.
Are there changing rooms?
No, there are no changing rooms at the start or finish sites. We recommend coming already dressed in your running gear and using the storage service for your change of clothes.
Where are the toilets located?
Toilets are available at all starting sites and at the finish area. Check the starting site maps to precisely locate toilets before your race.
Are there time limits?
Yes, time limits are implemented to ensure participants’ safety and allow for progressive reopening of roads:
- 20km: cutoff 1:30pm
- 10km: cutoff at 1:30pm
Participants who finish after the cutoff are not ranked.
How does the timing system work?
Timing is done via an electronic chip integrated on the back of your race bib. Important:
- Do not remove the chip
- Do not fold or break the chip
- Wear your bib visibly on your chest
- Do not hide your bib under clothing (sweater, jacket) during the race
Any bib that is not visible or has a damaged chip will not allow for reliable timing.
How do the timed race starts work?
Rolling wave start system: a smooth start for more comfort and safety.
To improve your experience and avoid congestion at the starting line, we have implemented a rolling wave start system. How does it work?
- Positioning based on estimated time
Upon arrival in the starting area, you will position yourself in the starting pen corresponding to your estimated race time. For the 20km:- Pen 1: Under 1h30
- Pen 2: Between 1h30 and 1h45
- Pen 3: Between 1h45 and 2h00
- Pen 4: Over 2h00
- Continuous flow of starts
- Instead of a single start with all runners, participants will set off in a continuous flow in small groups of 50-60 runners.
- Pen 1 will begin to be released at 10h30, then the following pens will naturally follow.
- An audible signal will sound to indicate the departure of a new group.
- Individual timing
- Your race time is measured individually electronically, from the moment you cross the starting line until your finish.
- No worries: even if you start 10 minutes after the first group, your actual time will be correctly calculated!
- Advantages of the rolling start
- Less crowding at the start
- More space in the first kilometers
- Better distribution of runners on the course
- More pleasant experience at aid stations
- Enhanced safety for all participants
- Practical advice
- Be honest about your estimated time: positioning yourself in a pen that is too fast can be dangerous for you and inconvenient for other runners.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before the start to position yourself in the right pen.
- Follow the indications of the organizers who will guide you to the area adapted to your pace.
The rolling wave start is a proven method used in many international races to improve the experience of all participants.*
